Liz Grossman is a Chicago-based writer, editor, and storyteller, going on twenty-five years. She’s the former editor-in-chief of Plate, a national, award-winning trade publication for the professional chef industry. She has won Jesse H. Neal Awards for her coverage of Team USA’s win at the Bocuse d’Or, as well as for the Burnt, No Waste, and Longevity issues of Plate. As co-founder of the nonprofit storytelling series, Between Bites, Liz is passionate about live lit and giving back to the Chicago food community. Her own live storytelling experience includes reading from her middle school diary as part of the Amazon series, The Mortified Guide. She is a James Beard judge for the Chef and Restaurant Awards and has participated as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Friends of the Chicago River, Culinary Care, and PAWS. She has also served as a speaker/moderator for the FAB, Mise, and the CIA Worlds of Flavor and Menus of Change conferences. Throughout her career, her freelance writing has appeared in both consumer and trade magazines including Newsweek, Southwest Spirit, Robb Report, Veranda, Chicago, The Henry Ford Museum, Food Technology, Food Service Director, Food Service Equipment & Supplies and more. @elizabites_chi
