Nemo Glassman

Founder and CEO, Food Tech Trading, Sakana Blue (Kyoto, Japan)

Nemo Glassman is founder and CEO of Food Tech Trading and Sakana Blue. He was born in rural northern California before attending Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and is now based in Kyoto, Japan. After moving to Japan in 2002 for a gap year, Nemo eventually founded Plus Alpha Japan, an experiential inbound travel business focused on authentic culinary and cultural learning programming.
In 2017 he started his journey into sustainable Japanese food systems, including collaborations with the Japanese government and some of the largest food related businesses in the Japanese seafood space and beyond.
To support this work, Nemo founded Food Tech Trading and Sea Tech Trading to fund supply chain and aquaculture technology projects, as well as the seafood brand Sakana Blue as a way to highlight excellent Japanese seafood producers looking to engage with the global community and marketplace.
