Martin Matysik

Martin Matysik is an internationally recognized executive chef, culinary educator, and hospitality leader with more than twenty years of global experience specializing in Japanese and Asian cuisine. Trained in Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, he has built a distinguished career rooted in authentic Asian culinary traditions, fine dining excellence, and modern hospitality leadership. His expertise spans Japanese kaiseki cuisine, sushi and sashimi, traditional dashi and noodle production, regional Asian cuisines, restaurant management, hospitality consulting, and concept development.

Since 2012, Chef Matysik has served as a chef instructor and assistant professor at the Culinary Institute of America, where he developed and led an advanced Japanese Cuisine Concentration program focused on traditional techniques, regional cuisine, and kaiseki dining. Beyond academia, he has contributed extensively to culinary consulting, menu development, hospitality operations, and international education initiatives. Through teaching, leadership, and innovation, he continues to share his passion for Japanese and Asian gastronomy while mentoring the next generation of culinary professionals.
