Lih Guah

Co-Founder, Chef, Journe (Singapore)

Lih Guah is a Singaporean chef and co-founder of Journe Singapore, a contemporary Asian private dining and supper club experience created with his partner, pastry chef Ethel Koh. He spent five formative years cooking in San Francisco before returning to Singapore, with a background shaped by fine dining, live-fire cooking, Japanese and French technique, and the food cultures of Southeast Asia.

In San Francisco, Lih was part of the opening team as sous chef at O’ by Claude Le Tohic, which earned one Michelin star. He later worked as menu development chef at Gozu, where he developed the savory tasting menu alongside Ethel, who led the pastry program. Gozu’s cooking was rooted in charcoal fire, Californian ingredients, Japanese pantry traditions, and a focused beef program.

After returning home, Lih served as chef de cuisine for the U.S. Ambassador to Singapore. In 2026, he represented Singapore at the World Truffle Championship in Soria, Spain, where he was named first runner-up. (Instagram: @guah.lih, @Journe.sg)
