Cathy Jörin

Cathy Jörin is a visionary leader with decades of experience across the global food, hospitality, and education sectors. As proprietor of Culinary Business Solutions, she currently consults on special projects. She recently retired from the CIA, where she most recently served as senior advisor and Asia liaison, advancing international initiatives and leading the Japanese Studies Concentration.

From 2016 to 2024, Jörin founded and directed the CIA’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies. She developed and accredited master’s programs in Food Business, Wine and Beverage Management, Sustainable Food Systems, and Culinary Arts; a fifth program was approved for 2025. She oversaw all aspects of graduate education, including strategy, finance, and pedagogy.

Earlier, she led CIA special projects and strategic initiatives, including Worlds of Healthy Flavors Asia® and Worlds of Flavor® conferences. Before joining the CIA, she co-owned a bakery and served as vice president of sales and marketing at The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley. She holds an MBA, a B.A., and a culinary degree.
